ArcDH Urges UN Action to Protect Rights of Azerbaijanis and Minorities in Iran under Agenda 2030

The discourse on human dignity and worth is commendable for cementing all human rights under the Vienna Declaration. However, policy-driven issues in the Islamic Republic of Iran are barriers against UN Declarations. Unchecked racism against minority nations together with extreme poverty can never make fertile conditions for human dignity.

The Iranian authorities create blatant disinformation through a lack of data collection about Azerbaijanis and most other minority nations and escape blame for this deliberate, hidden form of negligence. So, Azerbaijanis have to accept the impacts of heinous racism, lack of employment, poverty, and the segregation of girls and boys depriving them of an integrated culture.

Adverse and even immoral family planning in Iran promises incentives to poor and uneducated families to have larger family sizes which in turn become the root causes of child marriage.

The environmental state of the Azerbaijani provinces continues to decline, due to the impacts of pollution and climate change. These seemingly deliberate policies create a permanent crises for Azerbaijanis in Iran.

The ArcDH Association underlines the need for UN monitoring mechanisms for the implementation of the UN conventions and especially Agenda 2030 for the protection of Azerbaijanis and other minority nations in Iran.
