Environmental Crisis in Northwest Iran: Azerbaijanis of Iran Victims Seek Global Help

During the 54th Session of the Human Rights Council, the Association for Human Rights of Azerbaijanis in Iran #ArcDH highlighted a severe environmental crisis affecting millions of Azerbaijani residents along the River Araz in northwest Iran.

Hazardous waste, including radioactive material from Armenian mines, has polluted the region, leading to a surge in chemical pollutants and health issues.

Azerbaijani environmentalists face risks documenting the devastation, while Iranian authorities deflect blame.

The #ArcAssociation calls for international intervention to address this catastrophe and support the affected population.
